Beverley Town Council has held its first official civic function since the outbreak of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Taking place on Friday 4th March, the Mayor’s Civic Dinner saw dignitaries from across the county and guests from the town meeting at East Riding College on Flemingate.
An international opera singer and an acclaimed East Yorkshire choir hit the high notes to help a leading charity bring in six grand going on seven grand by presenting songs from an all-time favourite musical in an exclusive setting.
Mezzo-soprano Katie Marriott, who has returned to Beverley following a career singing across Europe, was joined by the Wedding Belles singers, some volunteer nuns and the host of the event at Everingham Park, near Pocklington.

Children, parents and grandparents entered the competition on Thursday, adults competing for both a trophy and afternoon tea kindly donated by Thierry and children competing for a winner’s party kindly donated by Mega Fun, Beverley.

This Sunday the Beverley Food Festival will take place in the centre of Beverley. The event officially opens at 10am and will feature a hundred stall that will all be selling a variety produce from the local area.
