This was always going to be a tough encounter on the East coast against a side that will contest the Tom Beeutiman Cup Final against Cottingham Tigers next month but the way the blue and golds played in the opening 30 minutes suggested an unlikely victory.
The blue and golds took 2 valuable league points last Saturday at the Leisure Centre in a game which they appeared to dominate from start to finish but astonishingly only won by 10 points.
This was probably Beverley’s most disappointing performance of the season at the Eastmount Community Centre last Saturday. They managed to field a fairly strong lineup with only Gavin Proctor a late withdrawal due to injury.
The blue and golds bowed out of the Tom Beautiman Cup on Saturday at the Beverley Leisure Centre. They had ample opportunity to win this tie and will again kick themselves for not making the most of their chances in attack.
Watching the two sides warm up last Saturday at the Leisure Centre, the sheer physical presence of the West Riding outfit was always going to be a deciding factor in this Yorkshire Cup tie.
The blue and golds will be very disappointed to have not taken both points from this encounter at Haworth Park. They led 12-0 after 15 minutes and were 22-14 up with just 15 minutes to go.They clearly have the ability to win games like this but a little bit of tactical naivety at times proved to be their undoing.
The blue and golds got the win last Saturday which will hopefully now kick start their season. The first half was an evenly contested affair with both sides turning around at the interval at 6-6.
This game proved to be a tough ask against a strong Hull Dockers second string. The hosts trailed 20-0 at the break and had to play 50 minutes of the game with only 12 men following the dismissal of full back Steve Connolly.
Both these sides served up a quality pre-season friendly for the big crowd that assembled at the Beverley Leisure Centre. The West Riding outfit gave Guy Adam’s side just the kind of tough examination he was looking for, and he will draw many positives from it.
Beverley ARLC concerned at the serious lack of match practice managed to hastily arrange this ‘friendly’ fixture at the Leisure Centre against Premier League opposition.
The blue and golds troubled season is now limping towards its conclusion. They managed to field a reasonably strong line up last Saturday at the Roy Waudby Complex welcoming back Steve Davidson after a period of absence
The blue and golds bowed out of the Tom Beautiman Cup at the first round stage. They will rue many a missed chance as they squandered quality possession and field position. They threw almost everything at their opponents in the first 20 minutes but the final decisive pass too often went to ground. It was against the run of play that the visitors took the lead as a result of…
The blue and golds went down to defeat in dissapointing style at the Leisure Centre last Saturday. A stuttering below par performance saw them have ample chances to win the game against a much improved Horners outfit from last season. The hosts started brightly as Steve Davidson’s long pass found Lee Facus out wide who sprinted away and did well to score despite the best efforts of at least 2…
The blue and golds got their first league points of the season in convincing style on their travels to Lambwath last Saturday. They looked far stronger in the pivotal positions with half backs Steve Connolly and Steve Davidson…
The blue and golds managed to field a much beefier side at last weekend and with a little more concentration when they led 20-16 with 20 minutes to go,could well have taken their first league points of the season. They paraded two new signings in second rowers Nathan Wilkinson and Steve White and also welcomed back Gavin Proctor and Steve Davidson to the fold. The hosts took the lead with…
This game was swiftly rearranged when Beverley ARLC’s scheduled opponents Orchard Park pulled out of the fixture as a mark of respect to the sudden and tragic death of their player Danny Orvis at the age of only 28. It proved to be a baptism of fire for the hosts as they were outmuscled by a physically bigger and more experienced side. In a much changed outfit from last season…
The blue and golds ended their league season at the Beverley Leisure Centre in dissapointing style. Not for the first time this season, they let a winning position slip when they led 24-14 midway through the second half having clawed their way back from an initial 10-0 defecit. The visitors were quick out of the traps with two tries in the first 10 minutes. The fightback began when Steve Davidson’s…
Danny Robinson scored a scorching, 30-yard screamer as Beverley ARLC nearly pulled off the impossible in their fund-raising football encounter with Hodgsons FC at Beverley Leisure Centre yesterday. Following on from their narrow defeat in their rugby clash, fans of The Tanners would have hoped for an easier time with the round ball at their feet against a less mobile Blue and Golds side. But it couldn’t have been further…
