Karren Brady, John Simpson and Alexander Armstrong to feature at Bridlington Spa new business network event this June in Bridlington.
Bridlington Spa will hold a new annual business event ‘The Business Day’ on Friday 9 June which aims to place business networking at the heart of a day of discovery and insight; including keynote speeches from Baroness Brady of Knightsbridge CBE and John Simpson CBE. Alexander Armstrong will host throughout as well as chairing a debate element covering local, national and international current affairs.
Taxis in the East Riding will be the first in the Humber region to be branded with distinctive white and green livery to help improve public safety.
The pilot scheme, which will run until May and is being implemented by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s licensing team, will see white vehicles on taxi ranks across the East Riding sporting green markings and displaying a Yorkshire rose symbol.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s planning committee has today given the go ahead for the development of a multi-million-pound business centre at the Bridgehead business park, Hessle.
The construction of the £3.9 million project will be delivered by the council. Once built, the building will be operated via an exciting new partnership between the council and the University of Hull.

Campaigners calling on East Riding Council to intervene in the private care home crisis will be out collecting signatures for a petition this Saturday morning in Hedon and Beverley.
They intend to raise the issue of the crisis in social care, when next the full council meets as concerns grow over how oplder people in community will be cared for.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is excited by today’s announcement that the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire will start in Bridlington on Friday, 28 April and will take in a number of East Yorkshire settlements, including Driffield and Pocklington, on its way to the stage one finish in Scarborough.
Similar to the inaugural event in 2015, the race will start outside The Spa Bridlington in front of a large crowd, anticipated to be in the tens of thousands, before the riders leave the town
It’s been eight years since Bridlington Spa emerged from its two-year, multi-million-pound refurbishment and, to stay attractive and relevant, the venue is set to reveal a full rebrand later in December.
The rebrand is not limited to a new logo. Internal colour changes, new signage, new website and a whole new communications style form part of the announcement.
Residents and visitors preparing for the festive season in the East Riding will be able to park their vehicles free of charge during the four weekends running up to, and including, Christmas.
The popular scheme will apply to all council-run on-street and off-street car parks, with pay and display machines in these locations being clearly marked to let shoppers know there is no charge
Plans for a Yorkshire Harbour and Marina in Bridlington are progressing well, with the council and Bridlington Harbour Commissioners bidding for funding from Central Government’s Local Growth Fund to help the area’s economic growth.
The project is one of several that form part of the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership’s (LEP) submission which is currently being considered by the Government.
