BRICKLIVE Animal Paradise To Take Over Sewerby Hall

With its magnificent flower gardens and beautiful mansion house, Sewerby Hall and Gardens is well known for its beauty. A significant Anglo-Saxon cemetery has also been unearthed in Sewerby during the 1950s and 1970s.

East Yorkshire Museums Partnership Education Officer Robert Chester has developed a workshop based on funding from Humber Museums Partnership and Arts Council England to tell the story of the pagan 6th and 7th century Anglo-Saxons who lived and settled in East Yorkshire.

The Return Of Easter Adventures To Sewerby Hall And Gardens

Excitement is mounting at Sewerby Hall and Gardens as the team prepares for the return of an Easter Sunday tradition at the popular venue – medieval jousting.

England’s number one jousting team from Nottingham will bring 20 jousters, including the Black Knight and Sir Michael of York on Easter Sunday, 17 April, and will be on-site between 11am and 4pm, with jousting displays at 1pm and 2.30pm.

Bridlington Park And Ride And Land Trains Resume On Saturday

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced that the popular Bridlington Park and Ride bus service will start on Saturday, 9 April and will run until 30 October, seven days a week.

The Park and Ride site near South Cliff Holiday Park will be open from 7am – 8pm, and charges will apply between those times. Transport links into town will start at 9.30am; times of the last bus back to the site will vary throughout the season.

Sewerby Hall and Gardens will be continuing to welcome the public with standard admission available to the house and zoo, with the gardens accessible free of charge until Saturday, 26 March. In addition to this, the hall will also be hosting several afternoons of music in the Orangery this month.

Sunday, 13 March at 1:30pm, will see Sax Forte appearing in the Orangery. The York-based quartet demonstrates the versatility of the saxophone, particularly of the classical repertoire.
