The blue and golds went down to defeat again at the Leisure Centre last Saturday. Once again there was no shortage of effort, endeavour and spirit but they were sadly lacking a playmaker which would have converted pressure into points.
This the latest defeat in Beverley’s disappointing campaign largely summed up their season. There was no shortage of effort and team spirit but some poor decision
This was a game contested by two desperate sides at the Beverley Leisure Centre last Saturday, and a draw in an error strewn encounter was a fair reflection of the game. Early in the game it was a case of if anything can go wrong it will for the hosts.
The blue and golds entertained the high flyers from Keyingham on Saturday at the Beverley Leisure Centre and it proved to be tough going. The visitors have assembled a formidable side this season which contains many teenagers that were products of their highly successful under 18’s team from the previous season. For much of the game Beverley ARLC were clearly struggling to cope with the slick well organised Vikings attack….
This was a desperately disappointing afternoon for the blue and golds at the Beverley Leisure Centre. A second half capitulation saw them concede 22 points without reply despite leading 12-8 at the break and the Haworth Park outfit having a man dismissed in the 39th minute. The game started poorly for the hosts with Beverley fumbling the kick off and the visitors scored in the corner off the resultant set…
The blue and golds suffered their heaviest defeat thus far this season on their travels last Saturday. There was no shortage of effort but they were outsmarted by their more youthful opponents as their disappointing run of results continue. They went into the game without their talismanic number nine Gavin Proctor who was sorely missed with the side lacking organisation. The writing was on the wall in the 10th minute…
The blue and golds bowed out of the Tom Beautiman Cup at the first round stage. They will rue many a missed chance as they squandered quality possession and field position. They threw almost everything at their opponents in the first 20 minutes but the final decisive pass too often went to ground. It was against the run of play that the visitors took the lead as a result of…
The blue and golds got their first league points of the season in convincing style on their travels to Lambwath last Saturday. Rich Shaw was able to field easily his strongest side thus far this season. Suddenly the prospects for the season look far brighter with team playing as a well organised cohesive unit. They looked far stronger in the pivotal positions with half backs Steve Connolly and Steve Davidson…
Holiday and work commitments severley depleted Rich Shaw’s squad and left him with only 16 players available. Indeed he was forced to bring himself out of retirement and include himself on the bench. The starting line up was very makeshift with a number of players playing in unacustomed positions. Paul Atkinson was switched to prop and Steve Connolly filled in at hooker. In a game played in near record temparatures…
The blue and golds, Beverley ARLC again took the field with a side containing several teenagers and were overawed by a more experienced beefier side. They made a reasonable fist of things in the first half trailing only 12-6 at the interval but the floodgates opened in the second half. The writing looked on the wall for the hosts as the visitors swept to 12-0 lead inside the first ten…
