Civic Day Celebrates Humber Bridge’s Place At Heart Of Community

Dignitaries and Civic Leaders gathered at the Humber Bridge on Saturday to celebrate the iconic structure’s place at the heart of the local community.

Mayors of Hull, Barton and North Lincolnshire; the Lord Lieutenant of East Yorkshire and Vice Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, and; representatives from the four local authorities and town councils near to the bridge, all took part in the Civic event which included a tour of the bridge and a trip up the north tower.

Ferens Art Gallery Sees 91% Increase In Visitor Numbers

Visitor numbers for the first five months of the year at Ferens Art Gallery have shown a 91% increase from the same period prior to Hull’s year as UK City of Culture 2017.

The figures, comparing the first five months of 2018 and 2015*, are promising for both the gallery and the city as Hull looks to build on the momentum from Hull 2017.

East Riding Council have sponsored the beach as part of the Welcome to Yorkshire stand at a cost of £4,000 for the duration of the event that takes place in July.
