People planning to use taxis or private hire vehicles this weekend should wear a face covering in order to protect themselves and their driver from COVID-19.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s licensing team, as well as licensed taxis and private hire drivers, have put a number of additional safety measures in place to keep everyone safe.
New rules requiring passengers to wear face coverings on their journey will come into force on public transport from Monday.
The advice is clear that people should continue to avoid taking public transport where possible. But if you do need to use public transport you will be required to use face coverings.
Work to improve Hull’s cycling infrastructure will begin this month.

The East Yorkshire community transport operator, Beverley Community Lift (BCL), has launched an appeal for new volunteers in the county as the charity approaches its 50th anniversary year.
The service helps dozens of people every week in the East Riding with car and minibus transport services, particularly those who have difficulties using public transport or have no access to a car.
