Regions Residents Waste £2.8M Worth Of Medical Supplies A Year

A campaign aimed at reducing unnecessary medicine waste has been launched across Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire GPs and community pharmacies.

NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Hull CCG estimate that an incredible £2.8million is lost each year across the region through medicines waste alone.

Have Your Say On Improving Access To GP Services

East Riding residents are being given the chance to have their say on plans to improve access to GP services in the region by making more appointments available outside of normal GP practice opening hours.

NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is looking to use funding from NHS England to offer additional appointments from 2019 and is running a short survey to help shape what this may look like.

Fight To Save Holderness Community Beds And MIUs Continues Says MP

Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley and Holderness, has today vowed to continue his campaign to save the community beds and Minor Injuries Units (MIUs) in Holderness, after the City Health Care Partnership announced that new admissions to the community beds at Withernsea Community Hospital will stop with immediate effect.

The twelve community beds, which cater for a range of patients including those in palliative and rehabilitative care, will no longer accept new patients after this latest blow to local residents.

Clinical Patient Outcomes Improved In The East Riding Of Yorkshire Area

NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (ERY CCG), including clinical leaders, has today (21 July 2017) been recognised by NHS England for its ‘exceptional leadership’ and has demonstrated improvements in a range of clinical areas in the 2016-17 annual performance assessment.

Against a backdrop of a very challenging financial position, the CCG has continually improved its performance, achieving a rating of ‘outstanding’ for mental health and ‘good’ for cancer. Improvements have also been made in dementia performance, with more people being diagnosed sooner.

Urgent Care Plans Approved By East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group

The future of urgent care services in the East Riding of Yorkshire have today been confirmed, with three urgent care centres open 365 days per year set to be introduced in Beverley, Bridlington and Goole, replacing the current minor injury units across the region.

The decision was also made to create an integrated community and intensive rehabilitation centre in Beverley, which will be supported by Time to Think beds, meaning current community hospital beds in Bridlington and Withernsea will close. A number of Time to Think beds will be located in Holderness and Bridlington.

Agreement Made On New Community Services Contract

HULL : Triumphant Team Wins General Practice Award

Following a long and thorough procurement process NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has agreed to award a five-year contract, of around £27 million per annum, to City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) to provide community services across East Riding of Yorkshire from 1 April 2017.

The procurement of a new contract was created to address a number of challenges faced by the NHS in East Riding of Yorkshire, including the demands of an increasing, ageing population.
