MP Ensures Beverley And Molescroft Councillors Have Their Say On Telegraph Poles

Graham Stuart, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, brought together cross-party councillors from across Beverley and Molescroft to express their concerns to Connexin, the Hull-based fibre broadband provider, about its planned delivery of broadband by telegraph poles to the town.

After seeing other neighbourhoods have telegraph poles imposed on them without sufficient consultation, Graham convened the councillors around the table with Connexin to ensure the people of Beverley and Molescroft have their voices heard.

Public Meeting With 'Cross' Beverley Residents Held By MP Graham Stuart

During a meeting hosted by Graham Stuart MP, the public expressed their anger at Network Rail’s decision to close without notice the England Springs level crossing just outside Beverley, which is used by over 150 people every day. 

Graham was invited to speak at the event, attended by around 50 people, through Sue Crowther, the organiser of the Open England Springs Facebook group.

John Duggleby has been chosen as the Constituency Winner from Beverley and Holderness in the National Farmers’ Union’s Community Champion Awards. 

Mr Duggleby, who is 77 has been farming for over 60 years. He and his family run Beswick Hall Farm in Beswick, a village on the outskirts of Beverley. His family farm produces a mix of both livestock and cereals.

MP Graham Stuart has heaped praise on the founder of the Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Clubs (AFVBC), Dereck Hardman after he visited Parliament to raise the organisation’s profile among MPs.

The former Royal Engineer founded the first Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club in Hull in 2007, operating out of Pete Barker’s Motor Engineers. The clubs are aimed at tackling social isolation among veterans and helping Armed Forces personnel to adjust when they enter civilian life.

Hull and York Rail Route Given Green Light By Government Ministers

A bid to restore a 40-mile direct rail route between Hull and York has today been given the green light by Government Ministers.

The bid, sponsored by Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart, will now receive support from officials at the Department for Transport as well as funding for 75% of the cost of creating a business case, up to a maximum of £50,000.
