A resident in the town for 50 years and an unquestionable commitment to the community Ian Gow is looking for Beverley to back him in the local elections.
Mr Gow is hoping that people will cross his box and get him elected onto Beverley Town Council in the May 2 local elections.
The Liberal Democrats were at the head of the queue as nominations for the East Riding council elections officially opened this week.
Nine Liberal Democrat candidates covering all three of the Beverley council wards handed in their nomination papers at County Hall within an hour of the nomination window opening.
Two high profile local councillors have made the switch from Labour to the Liberal Democrats. Cllr Peter Astell and Cllr Tom Astell made the switch bringing with them a wealth of experience.
Their move has certainly been welcomed by Cllr Denis Healy. He also confirmed the pair would be contesting the Minster Woodmansey seats in the upcoming local elections.

Walter Sweeney has warmly endorsed a campaign that aims to keep Beverley looking good. Launched by Beverley’s Mayor Cllr. Bryan Pearson, Mr Sweeny is fully behind the project to reduce litter in the town.
Mr Sweeney, who will be replacing the veteran politician in the upcoming local elections under the Conservative banner. Consequently, he is calling for residents to take more responsibility, and keep Beverley tidy.
MP Graham Stuart says he is honoured after he confirmed he was reselected to represent the Conservative Party in June’s General Election.
Mr. Stuart who enjoys a commanding majority is the odds on favourite to retain his seat for the third time and looking to represent Beverley & Holderness for the fourth time.
Beate Willar the Beverley party has hit out at the local media claiming are simply not getting the coverage afforded to those with large marketing budgets.
The Beverley Party have released a statement ahead of the local elections without questioning who the town belongs to and also the decisions being made that are impacting the lives of the residents.
Ali Crompton who will be standing in the local elections in May says more should be done to engage young people saying he would look to re-open up facilities in the local area if elected.
