A humdinger of a match. An encounter with high flying Sale when nearly a dozen of your first team squad are unavailable would not be many clubs’ first choice for a fixture.
Beverley RUFC coach Anthony Posa said he was ‘gutted’ that their clash with local rival Hull Ionians in the Yorkshire Cup will not take place.
A strange game. Seventy points and the closest of finishes but by no means the rousing encounter the final score suggests. Beverley started disastrously and spent all the match trying to catch up as Westoe
Wind, mud, and a day to forget for Beverley. Given the conditions there was never likely to be much finesse on view but Waterloo played by far the better rugby and fully deserved to win.

Beverley RUFC cannot afford much more like this. They have enough quality to be a top six side yet they have now lost five matches, at least four of them games they should have won.
What a match. You will not see much rugby more exciting than this. With five minutes remaining Beverley had this pulsating game won at 32-23 but Rossendale came back with a converted try and then won it with a try at the death.
A fine day, a lovely ground, superb conditions; all that was needed here was an afternoon of good rugby. Plenty of good rugby there was but unfortunately most of it came from Percy Park. Beverley had an afternoon to forget.
