Sinfonia Viva Orchestra will premiere School of BaROCK on Saturday, 13 February, as part of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Classically Yours programme.
The School of BaROCK film features East Riding of Yorkshire residents of all ages performing new music they have written, inspired by Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is delighted to announce that funding has been secured from Arts Council England for the next two years to continue with East Riding Youth Dance.
The first strand of the project is youth dance and it will deliver a community dance programme for young people aged 11 to 18.
Excitement is mounting in Bridlington for the return of The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to Bridlington Spa – by popular demand – this Sunday, 21 July 2019, at 3pm.
Their concert will be a chance to boldly go where no one has gone before and explore galaxies far, far away with this world-famous orchestra.
As part of Classically Yours, Alice is off on her adventures again, this time through her mirror into the whimsical Looking-Glass Land where words are backwards, time flies and eggs can talk!
The concert will be a chance to join an ensemble of Britten Sinfonia players on an interactive musical journey for the whole family.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council, in partnership with Orchestras Live, are celebrating the news that their RPS award winning programme, Classically Yours, has received a grant of £95,434 from Arts Council England to allow it to continue until March 2020.
This means that the pioneering work to bring classical music to venues and communities which would not normally be able to enjoy and benefit from it can continue in various locations across the East Riding.
Following the recent Platform event hosted at Bridlington Spa that saw over 100 young dancers take to the stage, East Riding Youth Dance is once again recruiting for young people to join the exciting community dance programme alongside the East Riding Youth Dance County Company.
The youth dance programme is a fantastic opportunity for young people from Year 5 and upwards to engage in 12 weeks of community dance. Participants will work closely with professional dance artists, providing a platform for those with little or no previous background in dance to have a fun, energetic and inspirational experience.
The London Theatre Voices will be making a welcome return to Beverley on Saturday, 6 January, at 7.30pm with An Evening of Song at Toll Gavel United Church.
The group comprises : Soprano – Claire Mitcher, Mezzo Soprano – Amy Kerenza Sedgwick, Tenor – Ben Kerslake, Bass – Andrew Tinkler, and Pianist – Simon Haynes.
Richard Durrant will be making a welcome return to Beverley for a Candlelit Christmas Concert. He will be at Toll Gavel United Church on Thursday, 14 December at 7.30pm.
This year Richard is once again joined by master folk fiddler Nick Pynn and singer Amy Kakoura, two musicians who help take this show into the heart of Christmas.
