Beverley Urban Orienteering Race

The heat on Sunday didn’t stop runners posting some very fast times through the streets and alleyways of Beverley. Over 100 competitors took part, with experienced Orienteers travelling from as far afield as Coventry, Middlesborough and Manchester, for this the second running of the Beverley Urban Orienteering Race. Humberside and Lincolnshire Orienteers are holding their second Beverley Urban Orienteering Event on Sunday June 26th 2011.  The first event in February 2010 was decimated by the snow storm that day, although the event did still go ahead. Local Runners Maintain Dominance

The second round of Orienteering’s East Yorkshire Short Race Series took place on Saturday (21st May).  Organised by Humberside and Lincolnshire Orienteers (HALO), the event consisted of two races of 3km with a handicapped start calculated for the second race. Schools Championships on the Map

Last week (April 12th) saw nearly 200 pupils from 29 primary schools come together at Burton Constable Hall near Sproatley for the final of this year’s East Riding Schools Orienteering Championships . Excellent Turn Out For Orienteering on The Westwood
