Beverley ARLFC will play their final pre-season friendly fixture this Saturday, ahead of the commencement of the new season the following week.
NCL Division 1 outfit Skirlaugh will be the visitors to the Beverley Leisure Centre for the 2.30pm kick-off.
Beverley ARLFC beat Hull Dockers 30 – 12 gaining a well-deserved morale-boosting win for the Blue and Golds who have been doing it tough for several weeks.
The tough schedule of matches took its toll on the Blue and Golds as they were beaten 50-0 by West Hull.
A depleted Beverley outfit, backing up from Thursday evening’s outing at Hull Dockers, simply had to do too much defending. A full-strength West Hull outfit took full advantage to hit the half-century mark.
The picture is now clearer with regard to the restart of the National Conference League. It is scheduled to restart on 22 May.
49 member clubs will be divided up into 7 regionalised divisions each comprising of 7 teams. Each team will play each other twice.
The National Conference League Committee has with regret decided to suspend the 2020 season after clubs have only played a couple of league fixtures each.
As a result of this, it means Beverley ARLFC will see their season called off. News of the league’s decision has left Beverley’s coaching staff disappointed.
The Blue and Golds have just held their end of season awards for 2019. Outgoing Head Coach Scott Taylor shared his views on the season.
Reflecting on what has been a difficult year for the club on the pitch, Taylor still remained upbeat.

The blue and golds will take on Hull Dockers this Saturday in their only derby fixture this season. Beverley will face Hull Dockers at 2.30pm kick-off at the Leisure Centre.
The match is also the second leg of the Paul ‘Curly’ Quiney Cup. The match, sponsored by the Middleton family, seems likely to attract the biggest crowd of the season so far to the Leisure Centre with a lot riding on the game.
Beverley ARLFC will head to West Yorkshire this Saturday as they take on Bradford Dudley Hill in the National Conference League.
Scott Taylor and his side will head to the Neil Hunt Memorial Ground in good spirits and also in a good form.
Ince Rose Bridge will arrive at the Beverley Leisure Centre in a rich vein of form. Like Beverley, they have won their last three NCL matches one of which was away from home.
Ince Rose Bridge are also riding high in NCL Divison 2 topping the table with 18 points from their opening 11 games. They have suffered just two defeats this season, losing away to Hull Dockers and Clock Face Miners.
Beverley ARLFC will embark upon the first of this season’s 2 trips to Cumbria this Saturday.
Beverley will take the long trip north as they take on bottom of the table Askam at Fallowfield Park.
Beverley ARLC will be looking to bounce back this weekend as they welcome Barrow Island to Beverley Leisure Centre.

This was the final leg of a series of very tough pre-season friendlies which the Taylor,Howdle and O’Connor had organised, and on the surface of it they will take plenty of positives against NCL 1 opposition.
This was another entertaining warm up for the season with no shortage of passion but played in a generally good spirit.
