Hull City Council Leader Mike Ross has joined forces with a local charity to set up a new fund that will help families with children attending primary schools in the city who are in need this winter.
This fund will help families with some of the challenges they will face during this period by sponsoring Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University to create this fund.
A manufacturing business with a workforce of nearly 1,200 people and a charity which supports more than 9,000 children gained new impetus for their wellbeing programmes after a leading law firm presented first-hand experiences of personal struggles with mental health.
Rollits LLP also welcomed organisations from a wide range of other sectors including tourism, food production, technology and professional services to their Employment Workshop – Boosting Resilience in your Teams event which was one of the highlights of Humber Business Week.
Since the nationwide lockdown measures were introduced in late March, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University have been working tirelessly to ensure the 7000+ vulnerable children in the region are supported in their education and wellbeing.
Pupils at a Beverley primary school are set to go to the polls this week as part of a pilot scheme to introduce children to the electoral process.
On Friday, 6 July children from St John of Beverley RC Primary School will hold a mock election to bring to an end a project run in conjunction with East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s electoral services and the Hull and East Riding Children’s University about democracy and the importance of having the right to vote.
