Beverley Racecourse is gearing up for its most prestigious raceday in a successful season which has seen bumper attendances flocking to the picturesque venue.
The racecourse is anticipating another great turnout for the Beverley Bullet Raceday on Saturday, September 2 – the last big meeting before the end of the season.
Beverley Races concluded what has been a great year of racing at the Westwood Course and what better way to sign off than having top jockey Frankie Dettori on the track.
Dozy and Jamie Spencer claimed the top prize at Beverley Racecourse tonight (Wednesday). Spencer brought home the Kevin Ryan-trained two year-old to its second victory in two races in the Hilary Needler Trophy Conditional Stakes. The filly came in at 9-2, well clear of favourite Frankie Dettori on Vocational. Pass Muster and Royston Ffrench claimed the 7pm race, the Kevin Donkin Memorial Handicap.
The appearance of Frankie Dettori at Beverley Racecourse’s Hilary Needler Trophy night could spell double trouble for the bookies. Dettori returned to the Westwood last season after a five-year break from the course and claimed four winners from five rides early in the season.
