It’s a fierce, never-ending debate among residents of God’s Own Country as to where the best place to live is. One name that always crops up in the top-rated Yorkshire domiciles, though, is Beverley.
This town has it all; stunning architecture, world-beating views, and friendly people, and it’s no surprise that so many homeowners want to buy here.
There are only two weeks left to visit the colossal artwork by Gary Saunt – ‘A Cultural Pilgrimage from Beverley to Hull’ – on display free of charge at the Treasure House in Beverley until Saturday, 2 December.
The huge digital painting – measuring over 20 metres in length – has been produced to celebrate the transformational impact of Hull UK City of Culture 2017 on Hull and the East Riding.

Traditional Morris Dancing has been represented locally by “Green Ginger Morris”, which has been seen at various pubs, galas, and garden parties (and pubs) in the area since the early ‘70s. We are now looking for the next generation of dancers to carry this tradition forward. Five Mills are known to have stood at one time or another on the Westwood, three have partial standing remains these are Black Mill, Westwood Mill and the Union Mill.
