Hundreds of people turned out in Beverley on Sunday to watch the annual 10k road race organised by Beverley Athletic Club. A record 1089 runners completed the testing course in cool and damp conditions. One of Beverley’s traditional seasonal features, the grazing animals, have started to appear on the on the Beverley Westwood. Sheep with their lambs and cattle are starting to come back to the pastures that surround the historic market town. Motorists are advised to proceed with care while driving across the Beverley Westwood.

Beverley hosted the first event in the new Yorkshire Urban Orienteering League last Sunday. Organised by Humberside and Lincolnshire Orienteers (HALO) the event attracted 48 competitors some of whom had travelled considerable distances.
