High Proportion Of Year Six Pupils Assigned School Of Choice

More than nine out of ten Year 6 children in the East Riding have been awarded places for the school named by parents as their first choice in the 2019/20 secondary school admissions round.  

Letters to parents, informing them of the outcome of their applications for secondary school places in September 2019, are being sent out today, Friday 1st March.  This is known as ‘National Offer Day’ and is the date that all local authorities in England have to send the letters out to parents.

Under Funded East Riding Schools Deliver On GCSE Results

East Riding secondary schools are again celebrating their success in the GCSE league tables. The news comes are the new tables were issued by the Department for Education.

Results show that 46.30pc of students studying in East Yorkshire Schools achieved grade 5 or above in English and Maths.

Beverley and Holderness MP, Graham Stuart has welcomed the initiative of three Beverley High School pupils, Jazmin Young, Amelia Sparks and Libby Marshall, who are participating in the annual Police Lifestyle challenge.

The girls are holding a fashion show in Beverley. The free event will be held at Beverley Minster Parish Hall this coming Tuesday 21st August 2018, from 2:00 pm until 4:30 pm.

Final Phase Of Beverley Road Improvement Scheme To Begin

The final phase of the £995,000 road improvement scheme for Beverley’s town centre is due to begin on Monday 30 July.

A number of roads and roundabouts have already been resurfaced in Beverley as part of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council project – and next week work will start on resurfacing a section of parking bays on Norwood.
