Smugglers Trod 2010

Seventeen members of Beverley Athletic Club travelled to Robin Hoods Bay last Saturday to take part in the Smugglers Trod challenge event on the North Yorkshire Moors. It was an eventful day with some excellent performances, a spectacular stumble and several cases of getting lost. Snaith Beats Pearson in 5K Debut

Runners raced round the narrow streets of Beverley town centre last Friday in the annual Beverley 5k Classic which preceded the National Circuit Race Championships for cyclists. Following the same course as the cyclists, runners completed four laps before crossing the cobbles to reach the finish in Saturday Market. Beverley Juniors Dominate Withernsea 5K

Beverley Athletic Club athletes enjoyed a trip to the seaside on Sunday to run the Withernsea 5 and fun run, organised by Withernsea Harriers.  There was a record entry for both races and the offer of free fish and chips for all finishers in the 5 mile race proved a big attraction for Beverley runners. Beverley Get Two Top Ten Finishes in the Horsea Marathon

The Hornsea 1/3 Marathon attracted a record entry this year and raised much needed funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.  271 runners completed the 8.7 mile road race organised by the Rotary Club of Hornsea and East Riding. East Hull 20 Mile Road Race

The East Hull 20 road race attracted a field of almost 400 runners last Sunday, most of them using the event to prepare for the London Marathon next month.
