Local MP Encourages Applications for the Coastal Communities Fund

Graham Stuart, the MP for Beverley and Holderness, today encouraged local organisations to apply for nearly £24 million in funding for economic development through the Coastal Communities Fund. The Fund, which was first announced in July 2011, will make awards to projects that support economic growth and will be equal to 50 percent of the revenues generated by the Crown Estate’s marine assets. Today the Government published more detailed guidance on how eligible organisations including charities, local businesses, voluntary groups and local authorities can apply for funding beginning in March 2012. Graham said, “I am pleased the Government has released more information on how to apply for the Coastal Communities Fund. This important resource will support much needed economic growth in coastal areas like those in East Yorkshire and provide vital funds to help them develop and prosper. I hope that many local organisations in the area will apply for funding as our coastal communities need all the help and support they can get to ensure that they flourish for years to come.” More information about how to apply for resources through the Coastal Communities Fund is available online at: http://www.communities.gov.uk/publications/regeneration/coastalfundprospectus Use Facebook to Comment on this Post
