East Riding Local Plan

Green Deal is the Government’s new flagship initiative which allows homeowners to install a wide range of energy efficiency measures, such as insulation, boilers and central heating at no up font cost. The cost of the measures is paid back over time through the savings made on energy bills. Green Deal is supported by the ‘Golden Rule’ which ensures that any repayments must be lower than the energy savings achieved from the work installed. East Riding of Yorkshire Council has been awarded funding to undertake a Green Deal Pilot, with phase one starting this week. Working in partnership with Insta Group, a pioneer Green Deal Provider and their approved local contractor Solarwall, the Council is targeting 900 households in Stamford Bridge. Each home will receive a letter offering them a free Green Deal Assessments worth £150 – this is a limited offer. The no obligation assessment will help residents see the potential benefits of Green Deal to their property, so they can decide if they wish to access the funding for energy efficiency measures. Two “roadshows” are being held in Stamford Bridge to provide more information. They are on Saturday 2 February, 10.30am – 2.30pm, at Stamford Bridge Primary School Junior…

Beverley Whitestar Athletic, featured in a competitive match at Stamford Bridge. The home side came out of the blocks quickly gaining a quick fire lead and began to apply yet more pressure. Some accomplished defending by Matty Clarke, Josh Northen and Ian Simpson helped suppress the attacks and on the occasions when the shots did penetrate they found Sam Oglesby in sparkling form between the sticks. As time progressed Whitestars came more into the game. Joe Wardill powered down the wing before swinging a dangerous ball into the box. George Cooper and then Max Bentham threatened to score from the ensuing goalmouth scramble with the equaliser looking inevitable; yet the” Bridge” defence somehow managed to beat the ball away. The second goal went the way of the first when a right wing Bridge cross was met by an overhead kick which left Oglesby with no chance. Further opportunities followed although displaying great agility Oglesby stopped everything thrown at him. Whilst at the other end Jake Wardle played in Will Corton who flashed a cross shot into the box which Joe Wardill spectacularly headed just over the bar. Whitestars were not to be denied though and when James Ayre calmly threaded…
