MP Keeps The Pressure On Ambulance Performance

Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart continues to put pressure on the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to improve the emergency ambulance response times in Holderness. Following concerns raised about the deployment of ambulance crews to other areas Mr Stuart submitted a second Freedom of Information request for clarification of the situation. Graham said, “The information shows that vehicles are being despatched out of area on a regular basis, but equally, crews are being sent from other areas to cover East Riding. “One of the greatest problems is that crews are being delayed handing patients over at hospital. This unacceptable delay forces the ambulance service to spread their resources thinly whilst crews are held up. “Since the introduction of the new GPs contracts by the Labour Government many doctors’ surgeries have opted out of out of hours care, this has seen a huge rise in the number of people who are attending accident and emergency units across the country. The service is now struggling to cope under the immense pressure. “We have to regain control of the situation and I have written to the Chief Executive of Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust to seek a solution to…

Come And Celebrate Diversity With Humberside Police

Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a property on Mickley Grove in Hull on Saturday 11 May 2013. Sometime between 0100hrs and 0520hrs on Saturday 11 May 2013 someone entered the rear garden of the property on Mickley Grove and gained access to a wooden shed within the garden. The dogs were in the shed at the time of the incident and four of the puppies, all bitches were stolen. The puppies are 5 weeks old and not fully weaned as yet and being separated from their mother is a distressing situation for both the mother and the puppies. The owner is understandably concerned for the puppies’ welfare in the circumstances and is anxious to have them reunited with their mother. They are described as one being plain black and one being completely golden. Another is golden coloured with a white spot on her neck and the fourth described as golden coloured with a white blaze on her head and four white toes. Anyone who has any information in relation to this incident is…

Able UK’s Marine Energy Park : Offshore Wind Connections

Potential supply chain opportunities at Able UK’s Marine Energy Park (AMEP) and the fallout from the introduction of the Energy Bill are on the agenda at a free breakfast briefing this week. The Team Humber Marine Alliance (THMA) hosted ‘Offshore Wind Connections’, which is being supported by EEF the manufacturers’ organisation, will feature David Shepherd, Able UK’s group business executive. There are a limited number of delegate spaces available at the briefing this Wednesday, April 24, at Forest Pines, Brigg, which will also includes senior industry figures from David Brown Wind Energy, Strabag Offshore and the Department for Energy & Climate Change (DECC). Mr Shepherd will detail the proposed 320ha Able UK’s Marine Energy Park development on the south bank of the Humber, just north of Immingham, the anticipated economic growth it will create for the Humber region and outline how local companies can be involved. “The offshore wind industry is tonnage light and land hungry – something most ports don’t know how to deal with or don’t want to,” said Mr Shepherd. ”AMEP provides a unique UK solution meaning the Humber is now poised to take advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity.” The project is at a critical…

Hull Collegiate School Visit Ogino In Beverley

As children we are taught not to play with our food but pupils from Hull Collegiate School were recently asked to ignore that advice on a recent school trip to support their learning experience of Modern Foreign Languages. Year 5 pupils from the school were shown how to make sushi at East Yorkshires only Japanese Restaurant Ogino. Owned by Rieko and Julian Ogino-Stamford, the couple welcomed the pupils into their restaurant to teach them how to prepare these artistic and very tasty creations. The head chef Toshimasa, who has cooked for many famous people said; “It was exciting teaching the children not only how to make the sushi, but showing them just how tasty and healthy it can be! The kids seemed to have really enjoyed making the sushi and then of course, eating what they had made. We do hope they have gone away knowing a little bit more about Japan’s cultural background and the type of food they eat.” Modern Foreign Languages is taught at Hull Collegiate School in a very unique and innovative way to other schools. It was found that pupils learning languages at the Senior school sometimes lacked motivation as they may have studied French,…
