East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Private Sector Housing Team will be running two training sessions for landlords in Goole covering how to inspect a residential property and how to end a tenancy. The session on inspecting residential properties introduces landlords to the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), which is the current means by which housing conditions are assessed and hazardous conditions are identified. By the end of this session, participants will understand the principle behind the HHSRS and understand how to identify deficiencies within dwellings. The training is being held at Goole Adult Education Centre, Stanhope Street, on Wednesday, 22 February, from 10am-4pm. The ending a tenancy session covers the serving of Section 8 and Section 21 notices and will guide landlords through the legal procedure for evicting a tenant. This course also provides guidance in relation to harassment. Again, the training is being held at Goole Adult Education Centre, Stanhope Street, on Monday, 20 February, from 1pm-4pm. These are free training sessions for landlords who own and manage property in the East Riding.
