2846 Fewer Victims Of Crime On The Southbank

There were 2846 fewer victims of crime across North and North East Lincolnshire, between 01 April 2012 and 31 March 2013. This is in comparison to figures between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2012. End of year figures for the Southbank Division, which consists of both North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire, show that all crime across the two areas was reduced by 10.1% and the number of victims of crime, who were satisfied with the overall service provided was up by 3.7%. The biggest reduction in crime, across the Southbank was in the number of people who were victims of criminal damage. There were 961 fewer offences than in the previous recording period. This area of crime saw a reduction of 16.7%. Violent crime with injury was reduced by 1.5%. The most significant reduction for the division is the 129 fewer victims of burglary across the area. It is no secret that burglary is one of the main focuses for the division and is something that police and partners work hard to reduce. Operation Rogue Trader

As part of Operation Rogue Trader, Humberside Police are taking part in a day of action to target those people who target elderly and vulnerable people, by charging them extortionate prices for work to be carried out at their homes. Officers from across the force will be working with representatives from local Trading Standards authorities to disrupt those people who are intent on par taking in this type of criminal activity and to engage with the public to get the message out about rogue traders. Rogue traders target homes all across the force and officers will act quickly to try and catch these opportunist thieves before they target more homes. Recently in Hull a man was jailed for 16 months after being found guilty of selling fish to an elderly couple. Christopher Williams (31), sold £20 worth of fish to a couple for £2280. Williams was quickly apprehended by officers and appeared at Hull Crown Court earlier this month. Clinical Commissioning Group In North Lincolnshire Gets Green Light

North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group is pleased to announce it has achieved authorisation in Wave 2 of the national process. This authorisation is the rubber stamp that allows local clinicians to take control of the NHS budget in North Lincolnshire from April 2013. North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group is one of 67 Clinical Commissioning Group’s nationally to achieve authorisation in Wave 2 and one of only 19 to do so with no conditions attached. From 1st April 2013 the CCG will replace NHS North Lincolnshire as the organisation that, working with local residents, will decide which health services should be commissioned and provided for their local populations. Allison Cooke, Chief Officer of the North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group explained, “This is fantastic news for both the Clinical Commissioning Group and the population of North Lincolnshire. WILLERBY : Warning to Residents Following Bogus Caller

OFFICERS in East Riding of Yorkshire are appealing for local residents across the county to be aware of bogus callers following incidents in Howden and Willerby. The first incident occurred at around 1200hrs on Monday 19 March 2012 at a property on Minster Court, Howden. An elderly woman answered the door to an unknown man who claimed he was doing building work at a neighbouring property, but required her to relieve the water pressure by turning on her taps. She agreed and the man followed her into the kitchen were she turned on her kitchen taps and emptied a cupboard under the sink. While she did so the man searched her bedroom, eventually leaving after being challenged by the woman and her neighbour. Nothing was stolen. The suspect was described as white, aged between 25 and 30 years old and around 5ft 8ins tall with a stocky build. The second incident occurred between 1430hrs and 1500hrs on Friday 23 March 2012 at a property on Well Lane, Willerby. GOOLE: Police Operation Targets Goods Vehicles

As part of an ongoing national operation tackling a broad spectrum of policing issues, Humberside Police Roads Policing Section has taken the lead on two days of pro-active operations. Working with partner agencies VOSA (Vehicle Operator and Services Agency), HMR&C Road Fuel Testing Unit, UK Borders Agency and Humberside Police Ports officers and Marine Section, the operation was delivered over two days, Monday 13 February and Wednesday 15 February 2012. The first part of the operation took place at Goole, in the Bridge Street and Docks area. Roads Policing officers with the partner agencies carried out compliance checks on Heavy Goods Vehicles operating in the area and delivering to and from the international port to import and export goods. Port officers with Marine Section and UK Borders immigration staff simultaneously boarded vessels in the Dock and carried out checks of seafarers to ensure compliance with UK and European legislation. These checks were aimed to combat offences such as illegal importation and exportation of goods, smuggling of illicit material and products such as tobacco and drugs and the trade in human trafficking in addition to ensuring safe goods vehicles were being used on the roads and that drivers & operators, both…

  Humberside Police have released electronic images of a man and a woman they are trying to locate following two bogus caller incidents in Beverley in the last week. The first incident occurred on Duesbury Close, Beverley on the morning of Wednesday 01 February 2012. An 87-year-old woman was alone at her address when a woman knocked on the door claiming to be representing a charity supporting deaf people and was selling items for that charity. The victim said she did not want anything, but the woman asked if she could use the toilet, which was agreed. The woman then left the property, however the following morning the victim discovered her handbag and purse were missing, believed stolen. The woman had no identification and is being treated as a bogus caller. The offender was described as white, around 28 years old and 5ft 8in tall with a stocky build. She had shoulder length mousey brown coloured hair and was wearing a big multi coloured jacket and was carrying a large bag which contained tea towels and other household items. The second incident occurred at a property on Whitehead Close, Beverley between 1515hrs and 1535hrs on Thursday 02 February 2012. An…
