The young people of Hull and East Yorkshire are getting their own opportunity to experience what it might be like to win Gold. 2012 is not only the year of London 2012 it is also the year of the Humber School Games Festival which will take place on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th July. Over 2000 young people from primary and secondary Schools, Academies and Special Schools will compete across a weekend packed with different sports to test their stamina, skills and abilities to find out which teams will be the Humber School Champions the Year the Olympics came to Britain. Amongst the sports will be traditional Olympic sports such as Athletics and Swimming where young people will test themselves against the best the Humber has to offer, but alongside these there will also be less traditional sports such as Orienteering and Rounders where it is just as important to work as a team as it is to be the best athlete.
