Humberside Police Warn Shoppers About Purse Dipping

Humberside Police are warning people to be on their guard and not to leave purses in easily accessible places after nine purse thefts have been reported since the beginning of the year in the East Riding. In March alone, seven victims aged between 48 and 89-years old have had their purses stolen whilst out shopping in the East Riding. CCTV Stills of two women have been released, in a bid for the public to help indentify them and help officers with their enquiries. The offences have occurred in Morrison’s Supermarkets in Anlaby and Brough, Bon Marche in Beverley, Post Office in Hessle and a charity shop and Co-operative Store in Cottingham. Two shoppers were targeted at a similar time whist shopping in Bon Marche, in Beverley: At 1120hrs on Thursday 14 March 2013, as a 48-year-old woman was browsing inside the clothes shop her handbag was allegedly unzipped taking her purse from the bag, containing the victims purse, bank cards, driving license, medical card, and money. Police Appeal After Women Has Hand Bag Stolen In Grimsby

Police in North East Lincolnshire are appealing for information in connection with a robbery which happened between 1400hrs and 1530hrs on Friday 07 December 2012. A 41-year-old woman exited her car and walked into a shop on Weelsby Street in Grimsby when she was assaulted by an unknown man. The man then stole her handbag and ran away towards Eleanor Street. The woman was treated a Diana Princess of Wales Hospital for bruising and swelling on her face. The handbag that was stolen is described as a black suede handbag containing cash, a Nokia mobile telephone and a wedding ring. The offender is described as a white male, of a slim build, around 5ft 10ins tall and wearing a black jacket. Anyone who may have information in connection with the incident is asked to call Humberside Police tel 101 quoting crime reference 1946297. Police Seek Man Who Targets The Elderly In Hull

Police would like to speak to a man after he target an elderly woman was burgled after a thief distracted her in her Vauxhall Grove home in Hull. The 84-year-old woman answered a knock at her door at approximately 1400hrs on Tuesday 04 December and found a man standing on her doorstep offering various items for sale, including calendars, torches and perfume. The woman invited the man into her house and bought three items from him, paying for them from a jar of money in her house. The man then left the address but returned 10 minutes later asking if he had left his identification card there. The man re-entered the house and went into the living room with the woman at which point, there was a knock on the door again. The woman went to answer the door and left the man in the living room. The man left the address and a short time later the woman noticed that her money jar was missing. The jar contained a large sum of cash in £10 and £20 notes. The suspect is described as a white man aged in his 30s or 40s, with thick black hair that was brushed…

HULL : CCTV Images Released Of Two Men wanted In Connection With Theft And Sexual Assault

Can you help police identify two men who are wanted by police in connection with a sexual assault and a shop theft in Hull. At around 0900hrs on Thursday 08 November, a 31-year-old woman, who was pushing an empty pushchair, was walking along Newland Avenue when it is alleged, she felt somebody touch her inappropriately from behind. As the woman turned around she saw two men, one of whom appeared to be moving his hand away from her. The other man attempted to engage in conversation with her. The woman walked away and entered Fulton’s food store. She was followed by the men who it is believed then stole a number of items before leaving. One of the men is described as being of tanned complexion, medium build. around 6ft 2ins tall and with short dark hair. He was wearing a tanned coloured coat with a hood. The other is also described as being of a tanned complexion, with short dark hair, which was wavy, on top and shorter at the sides. Police Launch Campaign To Find 12 Wanted People

Can you help Humberside Police identify one of twelve people who feature in a campaign being run this Christmas? The campaign launching this Christmas focuses on electronic images of those people who police want to trace in connection with a number of offences, one of which dates back to 2010, in an attempt to lock them up in time for Christmas. Regularly police release electronic images of people who they are trying to locate for offences such as sexual assaults and distraction burglaries. The images are created with the help of the victim to assist police in identifying who they might be looking for. Often these images are then circulated to the media to enlist the help of the general public. In the first part of the campaign police have released images of 12 people who officers, from across the force, want to identify. These individuals are wanted for burglary, sexual assaults, an armed robbery and an accosting. These are quite significant offences and in some cases the images have been released to the media before, but police have not been able to locate the offender. HULL : Collision On Haller Street

Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision which happened on Haller Street in Hull just after 0600hrs this morning (Friday 02 November). A silver and green coloured Suzuki, travelling westbound from Southcoates was in collision with a parked trailer. A 53-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was cut from the vehicle and taken to HRI. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the vehicle does not appear to have been injured. Police closed Haller Street, at both ends and diversions were in place along Lee Smith Street towards Hedon Road. The road re opened at around 1115hrs. Ambulance and Fire Service were also in attendance. SCUNTHORPE : E Fit Released Of Man Wanted In Connection With Sexual Assault

Detectives in North Lincolnshire investigating a sexual assault have released an electronic image of a man they are trying to locate. A 22-year-old woman got in a vehicle; she believed was as a taxi, as she left the Blarney Stone public house in Scunthorpe shortly before 0200hrs on Friday 12 October 2012. As she travelled in the vehicle towards her home address on Bonby Grove in Scunthorpe, it is alleged the male driver touched the woman inappropriately. When she arrived at her address and walked towards her front door she was followed by the man who asked her if she had left a bottle of drink in his vehicle. When the woman advised him it was not her bottle of drink the man is alleged to have asked to be let into her house. When she declined his offer, he is alleged to have pushed her into a corner before inappropriately touching her. The woman managed to push the man off her before he verbally abused her, got into his vehicle and drove away. Detectives in North Lincolnshire have released two images of men who may be able to assist with their enquiries following an alleged sexual assault which happened on Ethel Court in Scunthorpe between 1900hrs and 2100hrs on Wednesday 29 August 2012. A 43-year-old woman was walking home alone down an alleyway, when she was approached by two men who she did not know. As she walked past the men, one of them is alleged to have grabbed hold of her and pushed her to the floor. Whilst on the floor, the other man is alleged to have sexually assaulted the woman. Following the incident, the woman got up and ran along Mary Street, and the offenders are believed to have headed in the direction of Thompson Street and Station Road. One of the men is described as a white male, 5ft 8ins tall with short dark coloured hair, slim build, aged in his late 20s to early 30s. He was wearing a black coloured jacket and dark coloured trousers. He had a crooked nose and an earring in his right ear.
