North Cave: Fatal Road Traffic Collision On M62 Westbound

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the west bound carriageway of the M62 motorway near North Cave at approximately 2240hrs on Wednesday 10 September 2014. The collision involved a single vehicle, a red Peugeot 206, that was travelling in the direction of Leeds. The Peugeot collided with the central reservation of the motorway before coming to rest in lane three. The front-seat passenger in the car, a 19-year-old man from the Goole area, suffered fatal injuries. The driver, a 19-year-old woman from the Brough area, sustained a broken right arm and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment. Anyone who might have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 quoting log number 685 of the 10 September 2014. Neighbourhood Areas Bode Well For Community Planning

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is pleased that a number of approaches have been made from communities across the area in developing neighbourhood plans. To date, Allerthorpe, Cottingham, Woodmansey, Sutton-Upon-Derwent, Market Weighton, Wawne, North Cave and Pocklington have been granted as neighbourhood areas and, with support from the council’s forward planning service, their town and parish councils are progressing their own neighbourhood plans. Neighbourhood planning can be used for a variety of purposes, such as identifying where new homes, shops and industrial uses should be built. Plans also allow communities to have a say on what new buildings look like or what existing features in the community should be protected. Councillor Symon Fraser, cabinet portfolio holder for environment, housing and planning said: “The council welcomes the involvement of local communities in determining future planning needs and it is really excellent to see so many town and parish councils taking a pro-active approach and creating their own neighbourhood plans. “The council, as the local planning authority, has a number of roles to play in supporting town and parish council’s in preparing a neighbourhood plan, including designating neighbourhood areas, technical and professional assistance, such as advice on national and local planning policy,…
