
All 17 registered Beverley Braves players aged 6 to 8 years old turned out for this double header fixture. In the first match against Wyke, Michael McManus, Joel Newton and Matthew Cook enthusiastically applied their new passing routines learnt in training. Whilst the coach acknowledged there was room for improvement, he gave great credit to the young players for sticking to the instructions and giving it their best effort. The defence managed to restrict Wyke to 4 tries with some impressive tackling by Oliver Egan, Jared Goforth and Timothy Heng. Beverley created a few chances of their own but had to wait until the end of the match before James Marr went over to score their only try in the 4– 1 defeat. The second match against Lambwath lions saw the Braves in determined mood to make up for the earlier defeat. Jacob Parkinson and Louix Gorman led by example as the team defended their territory and prevented the lions from crossing their own line. A fine run from James Marr was just stopped short of the try line but William Wilson was on hand to score the opening try. With their confidence high, Beverley began to pass the ball…
