Graham Stuart MP Leads Event To Help Save Lives

As part of a campaign to improve emergency ambulance response times across his constituency, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart held a HEART Conference in Withernsea last Saturday. Named ‘Influence, Educate and Have a Go’ the aim of the event was to get members of the public to learn how they can make a difference in an emergency as well as promoting the work of Community First Responder Teams. Knowing how to save the life of a friend, loved one or even a complete stranger is a skill that you hope you will never need to use but will be very grateful of if you find yourself in an emergency situation. “Since the beginning of my campaign, emergency response times in the constituency have got better but there is still room for improvement; with greater support for our Community First Responder Teams and more teams, particularly in Mid Holderness, we can improve those times further…

Ambulance Response Times

Graham Stuart MP has launched a petition from the residents of Beverley and Holderness to call upon the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to improve its emergency ambulance response times and support the expansion of Community First Responder Teams across the constituency. Graham said, “Over the past six months I have been investigating the reasons for poor ambulance response rates in the constituency. I have met with the Chief Executive of Yorkshire Ambulance Service, visited all of the ambulance stations in the constituency to listen to frontline staff and have met Community First Responder Team members. “This petition aims to present the strength of feeling from my constituents to the ambulance service about the poor ambulance response times and to give a clear remit in support of the wider deployment and maintenance of Community First Responder Teams across the constituency. “I will have copies of the petition at my Street Surgery in Hedon on Saturday 9th February and at many public locations across the constituency. The petition is also available to download via my website. “This is an issue that affects all of us; we need the assurance that emergency medical assistance will be with us if and when we need it.” Use…
