Graham Stuart MP Leads Event To Help Save Lives

As part of a campaign to improve emergency ambulance response times across his constituency, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart held a HEART Conference in Withernsea last Saturday. Named ‘Influence, Educate and Have a Go’ the aim of the event was to get members of the public to learn how they can make a difference in an emergency as well as promoting the work of Community First Responder Teams. Graham said, “Saturday’s event was so well received that people are urging me to repeat it in Beverley, Hedon and Hornsea, it was fantastic to see so many children and adults who were genuinely interested in learning how to save a life. Knowing how to save the life of a friend, loved one or even a complete stranger is a skill that you hope you will never need to use but will be very grateful of if you find yourself in an emergency situation. “Since the beginning of my campaign, emergency response times in the constituency have got better but there is still room for improvement; with greater support for our Community First Responder Teams and more teams, particularly in Mid Holderness, we can improve those times further…

Could You Benefit From The Coastal Communities Fund? Asks MP

Coastal Communities

At the beginning of April the Government launched the second round of funding for the Coastal Communities Fund worth £27.8 million. Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart said. “This fund is a real opportunity for businesses and organisations to be imaginative about how they can stimulate growth and employment in their communities. “None of the previous Coastal Communities Funding was allocated to schemes in Beverley and Holderness, yet much of the constituency is flanked by seaside communities that are crying out for investment. “I appeal to the businesses and organisations that are the heart and soul of our seaside communities to think about how they could make use of a funding award of £50,000 and over to create a positive impact in their area. “The application deadline is the 13th May so organisations will have to move fast to develop their applications. “The focus of the funding is on economic regeneration and growth with an emphasis on employment. Successful applications in the past have included tourism regeneration, business to business communication and employment training projects. Use Facebook to Comment on this Post

Community First Responders Get Full Time Trainer

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service has appointed a full time Community First Responder Community First Responders team trainer. The post was previously covered by a temporary contract that was due to expire at the end of this month and will now be covered by a full time contract for 37.5hrs per week. Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart said, “A number of CFR teams from across the constituency wrote to me with concerns about how their training needs would be met beyond April this year. “I contacted the Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to highlight concerns and am pleased that the Community First Responder team trainer’s post has now been made into a permanent position. “Community First Responders have a vital part to play in making sure that local residents – and rural residents in particular – get a timely response to their emergency call. I want to see the number of CFR teams increase so that we have better coverage and better outcomes for people in Holderness and beyond. “On Saturday 11th May I will be holding an event in Withernsea’s Meridian Centre from 10am – 1pm called ‘Influence, Educate and Have a Go’ which…

Graham Stuart MP To Hold H.E.A.R.T Conference In Withernsea

Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart will be holding a conference at Withernsea’s Meridian Centre on Saturday 11th May as part of his campaign to improve emergency ambulance response times in the Constituency. Graham Stuart said, “The event is called ‘Influence, Educate and Have a Go’ and is aimed at getting as many people as possible having a go at hands only CPR and using a defibrillation machine in order to improve the survival rate of out of hospital cardiac arrests. We will also be promoting the work of our Community First Responder Teams. “Getting help in the first few minutes of a cardiac arrest is essential for the best possible chance of survival and recovery. The more people who know how to help and have the confidence to do so will give every victim greater hope of survival. “I attended a similar event in Westminster last year and was surprised how easy it is to use a defibrillation machine and do chest compressions. We are all capable of saving a life if we have the skills and confidence to do so. “I will be joined at the event by a group called Cardiac Risk in the…
