HESSLE : Friday Football Is A Real Success

August 19, 2012
By

Friday evening football in Hessle has proven to be a resounding success. The Friday evening sessions which take place at the King George V playing fields between 1830hrs to 2000hrs were organised by local Police Community Support Officers (PCSO’s) Chris Wray and Alex Collins, and have been well supported by local youths. In the recent Positive Futures Team Tournament which was held on 15 August 2012 at South Holderness School, the Hessle team finished runners up, narrowly missing out on first position after losing 1-0 to Bridlington. PCSO Alex Collins said: “The sessions were initially organised as a response to the local youths who expressed that there was nothing for them to do in Hessle. “As a result of this myself and PCSO Chris Wray decided to launch the Friday evening football sessions, not only to give these youngsters something to do, but to deter them away from becoming involved in anti-social behaviour this summer. “These sessions have enabled the local policing team to engage with local youths and further build relations with our community. This will also benefit the youngsters taking part, as they now know they have a policing team that is approachable and there to help. “The…

HESSLE Police Community Support Officers (PCSO’s) are launching Friday evening football sessions for young members of the local community. The Friday sessions have been organised by local PCSO’s Chris Wray and Alex Collins, and will take place throughout the summer holidays. COTTINGHAM : Artistic Boards Make Village Shine

February 28, 2012
By

Attractive and friendly welcome boards have been painted by young people from Cottingham Youth Club, residents from Southfield sheltered accommodation, members of Cottingham’s mother and toddler group and pupils at Hallgate Primary School and will be present at King George V playing field in Cottingham on Wednesday, 29 February at 10.30am. Everyone who joined in the project was given the chance to create a piece of artwork designed to share what is important to themselves or reflect what is special about Cottingham. The council’s brighter towns and villages programme is designed to help transform a tired-looking community space into an area to be proud of and enjoyed by all. Use Facebook to Comment on this Post
