Landlord Business Seminars

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Private Sector Housing Team is inviting private landlords, who own properties in the area, to attend one of two business seminar events taking place this month. The seminars are free events and include workshops looking at the welfare reforms, and how they will impact on tenants and landlords, information will be given as to help and advice available within the East Riding. An update will also be given about planned future initiatives of the private sector housing team, changes to housing and energy efficiency legislation. Seminars will be held on Thursday, 16 May at Hessle High School, Boothferry Road and on Thursday, 23 May in the Harbour Suite at The Spa Bridlington. The two hour events will start at 6.30pm These informal events have been organised as part of the council’s commitment to working in partnership with private landlords, promoting responsible letting and encouraging landlords to invest. HULL : Young Female Cyclist Injured In Collision With Car

A young woman suffered minor injuries after being involved in a collision with a car as she cycled along Leads Road in Hull on Wednesday 19 September. The incident happened at approximately 1620hrs when the 21-year-old Hull cyclist was approaching Stoneferry Road and was allegedly struck by a dull silver coloured car that she described as an old looking vehicle. The car is thought to have collided with the back wheel of her bicycle, which caused her to fall off and land across the road and pavement. She suffered a bang to the head and bruising to the right leg and ankle but did not require hospital treatment. Following the incident the car did not stop at the scene to assist the injured cyclist and drove off. Any witnesses to the collision or anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver involved is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log 501 of 19 September 2012. SCUNTHORPE : Fatal RTC Foxhill Road

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision which happened at Foxhills sports ground, Foxhill Road in Scunthorpe at around 1920hrs on Wednesday 29 August 2012. On entering the car park to the sports ground a grey coloured Seat Leon has come into contact with a piece of car park furniture, which resulted in the driver of the vehicle, Andrew Matthews (51) of Fairmont Crescent, Scunthorpe sustaining fatal injuries. Following the collision police closed Ferry Road and Foxhills Road. Police have spoken to a number of people who were in the area at the time of the incident, and would now appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call Humberside Police tel 101 quoting log 586 of 29 August 2012.
