With one week to go to the Hull Christmas lights switch on, Hull City Council is pleased to announce Luke Campbell will join the Lord Mayor Councillor Brown to turn on the lights. Thursday 22 November sees the big switch-on of the city centre’s festive illuminations. David Burns from BBC Radio Humberside will be hosting the evening between 5.30pm and 7pm, with the light switch on at 6.45pm. The countdown to the turning on of the lights will take place in Queen Victoria Square, with Luke Campbell and the Lord Mayor of Hull and Admiral of the Humber, Councillor Danny Brown, turning on the lights from the City Hall balcony to light up the city centre. Trees in Queen Victoria Square and Trinity Square will be lit up along with some new lighting in and around Queen Victoria Square, Brook Street and Prospect Street, providing an array of colours through the city centre. There will be a variety of traditional family entertainment and music including a guest appearance from classical pop quartet Ti Amero, singing traditional carols. Santa will also be dropping in to join the festivities with a grand entrance. Children can get involved in workshops in Holy Trinity…
