Two incidents occurred overnight on Wednesday 28 November 2012 to Thursday 29 November 2012 which resulted in a total of four cars being stolen after keys had been taken from houses accessed via insecure doors. In one incident in The Willows area of Hessle a black Ford Focus was taken from a driveway by suspects. It is believed the car keys were taken after suspects gained entry to the house through an insecure door. Another incident in Elloughton, Brough saw a Mini, Mercedes and Renault Clio stolen after their keys were taken by suspects from the house after gaining entry via an insecure rear door. Superintendent Darren Downs said: “Humberside Police cannot stress enough how important it is to leave your property secure, even if you are just leaving it for a matter of minutes. “The incidents outlined above saw two houses targeted and tens of thousands of pounds worth of cars stolen. This type of crime can result in a huge financial loss.
