Two adventurous friends are taking on the challenge of a lifetime as part of a charity cycling trial. Sergeant Gary Jackson from Humberside Police and his plumber friend Craig Smith will be attempting to cycle the 868 miles from John O’Groats to lands End in just eight days in aid of local charity Hull & East Riding Institute for the Blind and UK charity Help for Heroes (event no. 20120203/9797/7049). Whilst the pair are used to getting on their bikes, neither has attempted anything quite this ambitious before. To keep costs down and raise as much money as possible, the pair have also planned every detail for themselves; route, accommodation, transport, logistics and the all important charity fundraising. Accompanying them on the trip will be HERIB’s hairy mascot Harry who will be providing back up support and daily motivational pep talks as well as hopefully collecting donations along the way. The challenge begins on 1st April and all profits raised will be split equally between the two charities. Please show your support by making a donation today. Every penny really will make a difference. Anyone wanting to sponsor the pair should call HERIB on 01482 342297 or visit: http://www.mycharitypage.com/HERIBOFFICIAL/ …
