Humberside Police

Can you help police locate a woman, who was travelling in a silver coloured vehicle in the Scartho area of Grimsby at around 1915hrs on Monday 18 February 2013. The woman is alleged to have wound down the window of the vehicle, which is thought to have been a Ford of some kind, and tried to make conversation with a 13 year old boy, who was in the Scatho Road area close to the Spar shop, with his friend. The woman is alleged to have offered the boy some chocolates before asking him and his friend to get in the vehicle. When the boys refused the vehicle drove away. The woman has been described to police as a white female, aged in her late 50s to early 60s. She had grey shoulder length hair, which was wavy at the ends and was wearing very round spectacles and a red and grey coloured waterproof style jacket. The driver of the vehicle was not seen and is not believed to have made an attempt to speak to either of the boys. Anyone who can help police identify the woman and the vehicle she may have been travelling in to call Humberside Police…

Scunthorpe : Baths Hall Challenge Groups Challenge ‘Least Romantic Town’ In The Uk

Scunthorpe

The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe has challenged a report which declared Scunthorpe as the ‘least romantic town’ in the UK. Hotels.com today released a survey which suggested the town was the least romantic in the country. But The Baths Hall – which hosts one of the most romantic love stories Romeo & Juliet by The Moscow City Ballet on Valentine’s Day – has challenged The Daily Mail and Hotels.com to visit the town and see how romantic its residents can be. The Moscow City Ballet make their return to Scunthorpe next week for two performances of Romeo & Juliet and two of The Sleeping Beauty. The performances run for four nights and, ironically, start on Valentine’s Day next Thursday. After reading the Hotels.com survey and The Daily Mail report, staff at The Baths Hall have invited both groups to see Scunthorpe’s romantic residents for themselves. Dan Harris, General Manager of The Baths Hall, said: “What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by coming to Scunthorpe to see Romeo & Juliet performed by the world renowned Moscow City Ballet? We’re so confident both Hotels.com and The Daily Mail will change their perception of Scunthorpe’s supposedly unromantic residents, we’ve invited them…

Raisthorpe

Raisthorpe Manor’s Julia Medforth was full of hot air this week as she organised a quick fly-by at Drewton’s Farm Shop! Owner Katie Taylor was one of two Yorkshire suppliers who took delivery of a big bunch of helium balloons this week for Valentine’s Day, which will be given away to customers who buy one of Raisthorpe’s delicious, handmade liqueurs, preserves or chocolates in the run up to February 14th. Drewtons’ Katie Taylor said: “We were delighted to receive the gift of balloons from Julia, though the bunch was so large and it was so windy we were worried that we might float away too! We’re sure our customers will love to take one of these home with them when they visit our shop.” Julia added: “Whether it’s bags of chocolate clusters for a sweet-toothed sweetheart, a fruity fancy for a fiancée, or one of our luscious liqueurs for a loved one, we hope we’ll have a tipple for all tastes. And, what better way to say ‘I love you’ than with a romantic balloon!” To get a feel for Raisthorpe’s Valentines gifts and goodies, pop along to one of two tastings between 11am-3pm at Castle Howard in York on…
