East Riding residents have just a few more chances to get free bags of compost which are being given away by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The giveaways are taking place at: 16, May West Park, Goole, from 4pm 17, May Brantingham Park, Brantingham, from 4pm 20 May, old council depot, Grovehill Road, Beverley, from 2pm 22 May, Sport & Social Club, Pocklington, from 4pm 23 May, South Holderness School, Preston, from 4pm. Up to 80 tonnes of free soil improver, the composted contents of the brown bins is being given away, a total of up to 5,000 bags. Giveaways have already been held in Market Weighton, Hornsea, Bridlington and Withernsea. Each resident will be allowed two bags which will be put directly into the car boot by council staff so that residents do not need to do any lifting.
