It’s finally what we call ‘Open Top Bus weather’ – and everyone’s taking the chance to head out to the seaside. If you enjoy a visit to Hornsea, Beverley, York, Scarborough, Pickering or anywhere else on our buses why not tell us about it? We’d love to hear your ideas for days out on the bus – just reply to this email with your summer bus stories.
On the subject of summer, we’ve got a fantastic special offer for teenagers over the school holidays. 16, 17 and 18 year olds can travel for child fare on our buses all summer! Read on for more information – and please pass this email on to any teenagers you know, as it could really save them some money over the holidays.

Buses for Welton & Melton
Our Brough Town Bus now also goes to Welton & Melton. Three extra journeys a day in each direction provide a link between Welton, Melton, Elloughton and Brough. The times of the current Brough Town Bus won’t change, but you can see the new Welton/Melton times on our website.
From Sunday 22 July there are minor changes to some journeys on Service X46. Times of early morning journeys from Hull will change by a few minutes, to help keep to time better. However, most journeys are unaffected. See the new X46 timetable.
New! Buses to Sand le Mere
Our Service 129 buses will now go into the Sand le Mere Holiday Village on every journey. Four buses a day in each direction will link the Holiday Village with Hornsea and Withernsea – ideal for a great summer day out.
This means there are changes to the Service 129 times to allow the bus to get to Sand le Mere. Please make sure you see the new 129 times.
Our special Flamborough buses have started for the summer.
Service 100 runs from Bridlington through to Flamborough, via Sewerby Park. It runs every day all summer.
Headlander Services 500:501 run on Sundays and bank holidays, and go from Bridlington to Flamborough, the RSPB Bempton reserve and South Landing. These buses only run until 2 September, so make the most of a trip to ‘Planet Gannet’ (AKA Bempton Cliffs) whilst you can. See the RSPB Bempton Cliffs website for details of summer events.
The new timetables are available on our Summer Buses webpage.
There are now even more journeys running on our Service X20, between Filey, Scarborough and the Holiday Villages. Remember, children travel FREE this summer between Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. See the new Service 120/X20 times.
If you want a seaside day out from Hull or Beverley up to Bridlington, Filey or Scarborough try Service X21. This fast, direct bus goes straight from Hull and Beverley up to the seaside, meaning you spend less time on the bus and more time on the beach! Get the new X21 timetable now. Or pick up an X21 timetable leaflet from our Hull Travel Centre in the Interchange and you’ll also get a voucher for £1 off a family ticket on our Scarborough Open Top buses!
Race for Life – Hull
We’re running a special Park & Ride for Hull’s Race for Life event on Sunday 29 July. Buses will run from Walton Street to Fiveways Roundabout from 8.45am until 10.45am, and return buses will run from Fiveways Roundabout/Boothferry Road from 11.50am until 1pm. It’s only 75p single/£1 return, including free parking. Good luck to everyone running.
Teenagers travel for less!
This summer we’ve got a red hot offer for young people on our buses. Teenagers who are 16, 17 or 18 years old can travel for child fare on our buses all summer until 2 September. So that’s cheaper fares to the cinema, to the shops, to meet your friends, to the beach… in fact, anywhere you want to go.
There’s no need to apply for any special card or ticket in advance, just get on the bus and tell the driver how old you are – it’s so simple. You’ll then be able to buy a child ticket. Please make sure you bring some ID/proof of age, such as a driving licence, Citizen Card or passport.
East Riding Community Hospital
Beverley’s new East Riding Community Hospital was due to open this week, but the opening date has now been delayed. Once the Hospital is up and running our Services 246 and 121 will be serving the Hospital site Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm. You can get there from Hornsea and Beverley on Service 246, or from Bridlington, Driffield, Hull, Molescroft and Beverley on Service 121. If you’re visiting the new hospital and aren’t sure where to get off the bus, please ask the driver for advice.

There are often roadworks or events around the region which cause delays or diversions for our buses. When we believe this may affect passengers we’ll let you know through posters on the buses and on our website. Please make sure you allow extra time for your journey if your bus is affected. If you have any questions about the diversions below give BusCall a ring on 01482 22 22 22. Most roadworks are weather dependent, so the dates that councils give us can change at short notice.
North Ferriby: There are roadworks taking place along Melton Road and High Street, but no diversions are needed.
Hessle: Barrow Lane in Hessle is closed for ‘flood alleviation works’. Services 155 & 922 are diverting from Ferriby Road via Heads Lane, Boothferry Road and Swanland Road, then back to their normal routes. The road is now expected to reopen on 1 August.
A164: The upgrade roadworks on the A164 between Beverley and the Humber Bridge aren’t causing any diversions for buses, although please be patient if your bus suffers delays.
