An 11-year-old boy was cycling along Preston Road, close to the medical centre, when a silver vehicle, described as the same shape as a Citreon Picasso, drove close to the boy which resulted in a wing mirror of the vehicle making contact with the handle bars of the bicycle.
As a result, the boy lost his balance and fell off the bicycle landing on the main road. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
The boy attended HRI and was treated for bruising to his right hand and grazes to his right and left arm.
Police are appealing for the driver of the vehicle and anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call Humberside Police tel 101 quoting log 309 19 July 2012.
