in the East Riding are clamping down on alcohol related disorderly behaviour, during this busy sporting summer.

Going out with friends and family is one of life’s pleasures. We use this time to unwind, to have a drink, to celebrate, to have a laugh and to socialise, but this can often go wrong. Nights out can leave you in very dangerous situations like getting into a fight or causing other alcohol related disorderly behaviour.

To combat this, officers will be issuing section 27 notices. These notices allow an officer to direct a person who is either being disorderly, or if disorder is likely to occur, away from an area for 24-48 hours. If this is breached you can be arrested.

Inspector David Braysmith of said: “This is an exceptional summer, with events around the Olympics and bringing an increased amount of people into the busy town centres.

“This brings with it an increase in alcohol related disorder which officers in the East Riding do not tolerate.
