A Hull man who illegally disposed of waste has been ordered to pay £722.13 by magistrates.
Andrew Thomas Sykes, 39, of Willerby Road, Hull pleaded guilty to illegally disposing controlled waste in the car park on Keldgate Road, Walkington in a prosecution brought by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
A streetscene enforcement officer for the council was carrying out routine inspections in the area when he found the waste, which included a toilet pan, two wash basins, plastic sheeting, lino, cardboard and other general waste.
The offence was contrary to Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Sykes was fined £200, ordered to pay £507.13 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.
Mike Connor, taskforce and environmental enforcement manager for East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “The illegal disposal of waste is an irresponsible act which ultimately costs taxpayers thousands of pounds every year for the waste to be cleared.
“These incidents are taken very seriously by the council and enforcement action will be pursued in every case.”
