On 11th May Graham Stuart attended Hornsea School and Language College’s Green Britain Day Conference. The environmental themed day was organised to raise awareness of local renewable energy developments and career opportunities within the industry.
Students from Hornsea School’s German link school in Bremerhaven also took part, along with pupils from other East Yorkshire schools. Businesses from the renewable energy sector, including SMart Wind, Neptune Renewable Energy and Footprint Renewables were supporting the day.
After opening the morning with a short speech, Graham had the opportunity to talk with students as they took part in a variety of workshops.
The Beverley and Holderness MP said
“Green Britain Day is all about building awareness, understanding and excitement about a greener Britain. By linking business, schools and a green vision, we can bring these issues alive and let the children take centre stage.”
In March the Climate Change Minister, Greg Barker MP, visited the school at their request and with Graham’s support. Mr Barker praised their approach to green issues.
