Appeal For Witnesses Following RTC On B1251

WITNESSES are sought to a collision that happened at on the B1251 near Fridaythorpe in at approximately 1035hrs on Saturday 05 May 2012.

A white Citroen DS3 motorcar was travelling towards Fimber in a line of traffic and it appears that as the driver, a 59-year- from the York area, was conducting an overtake of a number of vehicles, he lost control of the vehicle and left the .

Both the driver and his passenger, a 60-year- also from the York area, sustained spinal injuries and were taken to York and District Hospital for treatment where they were detained for observations.

The fire and ambulance services attended the incident along with and the road was closed between the village of Fimber and at the Seaways Cafe junction for just over an hour.

The fire service assisted with extracting the driver from his car that had come to rest on its roof.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the car travelling immediately prior to it leaving the road.
