Over 300 Students Attend Working Choices Event

The Beverley Local Area Partnership ‘Working Choices’  was very successful.

Held at the Mecure Hotel, Willberby (formerly Ramada Jarvis), the event saw more than 300 Beverley sixth form students finding out about alternative career paths available to them other than going to university.

Around 30 exhibitors including , HETA, National Apprenticeship Service and the RAF to name a few attended the event to share their knowledge and expertise and to promote the career paths into their industry either through apprenticeships, college/training courses or .

, assistant head teacher at , said: “In the present economic climate and with rising university tuition fees, it is more essential than ever that students make informed choices.”

, of the , said: “it’s a great event for students to find out first-hand about the opportunities offered locally and it’s important to make sure that our young people are in a position to benefit from these opportunities.”
