Friends and family gathered at Beverley Rugby Club yesterday to celebrate the birthday of the late Matthew Graham.
Organised by his sister Fiona Graham and the rest of Matthew’s family, the fun day was hit by the bad weather, but it couldn’t douse the spirits of those who had come to raise money for The Samaritans.
The family would like to thank the businesses and organisation who donated prizes for the raffle. These were Hugh Rice Jewellers, Little Ones Nursery Store, Dean Hoggard from the Save A Life For A Kid charity, the Staybridge Suites Hotel in Newcastle, and Wyke College.
It’s the second event organised in memory of Matthew, following on from an evening at the Memorial Hall last year.
Fiona said: “I’d like to thank everyone for coming and we’re hopefully going to make it an annual thing.
“Hopefully we will get some better weather next time though.”
