Hodgsons Bounce Back in Style With Away Win

Hodgsons travelled to Longhill Estate to face bottom of the table Inter Charter.

Following last weeks dismal effort it was critical that the bounced straight back and picked up all 3 points against a side that before today’s match had conceded 67 goals.

opened the scoring on 11 minutes through Andrew Stott. His left foot strike on goal took a slight deflection leaving the keeper stranded for one nil.

No further goals followed until the 63rd minute when that man Stott struck again to put the 2 up.

To their credit Inter never gave up trying, but the end product was poor.

A third killer goal came from the right foot of . He seemed to steal the ball from his substitute strike partner Joe Dexter, and let go with a thunderous right foot drive. Dexter looked bemused, but at the same time was clearly pleased to see his side 3 goals to the good.

Dexter did get on the score sheet with 4 minutes remaining. He finished with his left foot after good work by substitute .

The 5th and final goal came from another substitute – . He weaved his way through the Inter defence like a knife through butter and calmly slipped the ball passed the on coming keeper.

Although it wasn’t vintage Hodgsons, and the pitch certainly didn’t help, the 3 points were in the bag and it was back to winning ways.

Assistant manager added:

“It was important to get the win, and doing so it keeps us firmly at the top of the league.”

“There was an opportunity to take a look at who has been playing particularly well in the reserves. He came on and didn’t disgrace”.

Next up for the is a home match versus FC. Kick off 2pm.
