Beverley does not appear to be twined with a Royal Navy Ship though during World War II HMS Beverley a former American destroyer was part of the Atlantic Fleet its role to protect the merchant ships.
The ships crest has a white star, the star indicates that the destroyer was a formally owned by the US and was part of a swap deal between the US & UK governments.
Unfortunately HMS Beverley was sunk by a U Boat off the coast of Iceland; a memorial for those 151 men who lost their lives is located in the Memorial Garden next to St Mary’s Church.

Former: On 9 Apr, 1943, HMS Beverley (H 64) had been seriously damaged in a collision with the British steam merchant Cairnvalona (4929 tons) and took station in the rear of the convoy, until she was torpedoed later, U-188 fired a torpedo at the convoy ON-176 southwest of Iceland.At 05.50 hours, two more torpedoes were fired at HMS Beverley

The German submarine U-187 was sunk in the North Atlantic, in position 50.12N, 36.35W, by depth charges from the British destroyers HMS Vimy and HMS Beverley.
