Congratulations to Bill Rice of Morton Lane, Beverley who celebrates his 80th Birthday today and who is well known to the public of Beverley as Gentleman Bill.
Bill has also been known as the Town Crier of Beverley, when he used to lead the Beverley Lions Carnival Parade and was at one time also known as Policeman Bill, who for many years was on duty in Saturday Market, and with his commanding presence, ensured that Saturday nights were trouble free.
He gives his time freely to many charitable organisations, which include the Beverley Lions Club for which he is a Past President and we wish him very many happy returns as he celebrates today with a family dinner party.
