The Wildlife Photographer of the year exhibition is well worth a visit. Open to the public from Saturday 22 June to 14 September the event features some of the most acclaimed works in the UK.

This is the third year the exhibition on loan from the Natural History Museum has been put on display at the Treasure House.

St Mary’s Primary School Awarded Cash To Help Fund Project

St Mary’s Primary School have been awarded a cash windfall, money they say they will be used to improve their outdoor area.

The school on Eden Road in Beverley was awarded the money by the Tesco in Beverley. In all, they received £2,000 as a result of finishing first in the supermarket’s Bags of Help incentive.

Communted Sums Fund Three Play Area Improvement Projects

Play Areas in Woodmansey Parish have been officially reopened after the completion of works. This work was funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council as part of Commuted Sums, collected from developers of nearby housing sites.

Deer Park Way Play Area and King Street Play Area have been reopened. While the third play area Southwood Park on Princess Way is set for work to start in July.

Beverley Town Council has hit the ground running with a cross-party initiative to acquire premises that can provide administrative offices alongside facilities for the benefit of the town as a whole.

Following the first meeting of Full Council after mayor-making, members discussed the initiative and agreed that the old school buildings on St Nicholas Road could be ideal to fulfil this vision.
